For organizations

Bring Olley to the parents you already serve

Olley is a universal prevention program for parents of school-age children, delivered in one 90 minute session by a certified facilitator. It was built to fit inside the work Child Advocacy Centers, schools, and community agencies are already doing.

Why partners choose it

Parent programming that parents will actually attend

The hardest part of parent programming has never been the content. It is getting parents in the room, and keeping the ask small enough that they can say yes.

Olley is one session, ninety minutes. Parents practice out loud instead of listening, and they leave with something they can use the same day. Facilitators come from your staff or from our certified trainer network.

Inside the session

Five modules, ninety minutes

Modules that are strictly informational stay short. Modules that require problem-based, interactive learning get the time they need, and facilitators are trained to protect the role play rather than cut it.

01

Introductions and Getting to Know Everyone 15 min

Names, warmth, and a first low-stakes experience of saying something a little vulnerable to another person.

02

Understanding the Reality 15 min

How abuse and exploitation actually happen, told through one story. Parents surface the old playbook themselves, work through their reaction out loud, and leave understanding why fear-based approaches do not protect children.

03

The OLLEY Framework 20 min

The five practices, walked through together: own your emotions, lead with connection, listen with curiosity, establish and enforce boundaries, and remember you are not alone.

04

Practice with Scenario 30 min

Scene-based role play across three moments, with Notice and Wonder after each one. The longest module and, consistently, the one participants name as their favorite.

05

Your Worst Fears 5 min

What to do if a child shares something concerning, who to call and in what order, and what happens after a report. Brief and quiet by design.

What parents take home

Resources they will actually use

Nobody should have to read the literature to act on it. We take the best available science and cut it down to what a parent can use on the drive home.

Every participant leaves with a set of take-home cards: the five practices on one page, grooming red flags, what to do when a child discloses, how to build a circle of safe adults, and a Notice and Wonder worksheet for practicing at home. Short, plain, and specific enough to act on.

How it was designed

Built to meet the needs of agencies charged with prevention

Olley was shaped by an advisory team, subject matter experts, the voiced needs of community agencies, and a review of the literature and existing programming.

Aligned with your existing work

Olley fits alongside the programs community partners have already adopted, and can run as a stand-alone session or inside another training platform.

Adult learning, not information delivery

Interactive throughout, with simulations, problem-based learning, and behavioral rehearsal, which has strong evidence behind it in adult programming.

Compassionate and optimistic in tone

An emotionally difficult topic handled without fear, and attentive to all audiences through general and tailored approaches.

Agile as the evidence moves

Built to incorporate new innovations as the research evolves and new threats emerge, using a Plan-Do-Study-Act approach to iteration.

What comes next

Ninety minutes is a beginning

Anchoring skills need reinforcement, and we are building toward that. Online consultation and coaching, web-based resources, and places for parents to be in community with each other are all in development. If that is something your organization wants to shape, we would like to hear from you.
